Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 12: Frank Gore a risky play vs. Steelers

With Andrew Luck out, can Frank Gore carry the load for the Colts and your fantasy team?

No one player may be in for a bigger workload on Thanksgiving than Frank Gore.

That is at least what the Indianapolis Colts are hoping as they will likely lean heavily on Gore with Andrew Luck (concussion) out. You could make the argument that no Luck means Indy will give Gore more carries than he has gotten in a single game this season to keep the Colts offense moving and the Pittsburgh Steelers’ explosive offense off the field.

But that Pittsburgh offense could make this game a shootout that leads to Indianapolis abandoning the run and lightly using Gore. All of this is why you could make a good argument for Gore being the biggest boom-or-bust running back of Week 12.

Fantasy Impact: Yahoo! ranks Gore as the 13th-best running back in Week 12. He faces a Steelers defense allowing the fourth-most fantasy points to running backs this season.

You ‘should’ start Gore this week, but do not be surprised if the game script leads to him being a dud for your team this week. I would rank guys like LeGarrette Blount, Matt Forte, and Carlos Hyde ahead of him, so keep that in mind when setting your lineup.
