For the seventh time in 2016, Matthew Stafford led the Detroit Lions back from a fourth-quarter deficit, tying the NFL record for most comebacks in a single season.

The Minnesota Vikings had a 13-10 lead when Stafford led the Lions down the field for a game-tying field goal with less than two minutes remaining. On the subsequent possession, Sam Bradford was intercepted by Lions cornerback Darius Slay that set up a game-winning field goal for Matt Prater from 40 yards.
With five games left to play, Stafford has plenty of chances to break the record, but for now, his seven fourth-quarter comebacks are tied with marks set by Eli Manning in 2011 and Peyton Manning in 2009.
Both Mannings finished those seasons with trips to the Super Bowl, though only Eli was able to end the year with a victory in another come-from-behind performance over the New England Patriots.
Stafford has put together a tremendous year with the Lions so far, throwing 19 touchdowns and just five interceptions. Through 11 games, the Lions are atop the NFC North with a 7-4 record, and Stafford has career highs in completion percentage and passer rating.
In all 11 games, the Lions have trailed in the fourth quarter, and every game has been decided by seven points or fewer.
