Oakland quarterback Derek Carr didn’t just dislocate his finger when the Raiders beat the Carolina Panthers on Sunday. He dislocated it in two separate places, according to NFL Network’s Judy Battista, who got the details from Carr’s brother, David.

Carr is expected to be fine for Oakland’s next game against the Buffalo Bills.

Carr still finished the game, playing well enough to help his team pull off a 35-32 victory.
David Carr is showing support for his brother by also wearing a glove on his throwing hand.
The injury occurred as Carr pulled back too quickly when taking a snap under center and the ball bounced off of his pinkie at a terrible angle.
Carr screamed in pain, according to Tracy Wolfson during the game broadcast, which seems reasonable given that he dislocated his pinkie finger in two different places. Still, the pain didn’t stop him from returning.
Carr briefly left the game, headed to the locker room, and returned shortly thereafter wearing a glove. Following the injury, he completed 11 of 18 passes for 139 yards, one touchdown, and one interception.
After the game, Carr said the injury caused him “probably some of the most pain I’ve ever felt in my life.”
Despite the severity of the dislocation, Carr is expected to play next Sunday against the Buffalo Bills, which isn’t surprising considering the injury didn’t slow him down much right after it occurred.
