Chicago Cubs, Philadelphia 76ers won more games than 6 NFL teams in November

The Browns, 49ers, Bears, Jaguars, Jets, and Bengals were 0-21 in November.

Bad teams in the NFL have been really bad in 2016. The Cleveland Browns are four games away from being the second team to ever go winless in a 16-game NFL season, but they still haven’t clinched even a top five pick in the 2017 NFL Draft because so many other teams are losing too.

The Browns, San Francisco 49ers, Chicago Bears, Jacksonville Jaguars, New York Jets, and Cincinnati Bengals all finished the month of November without a single win. Collectively, the six teams were 0-21.

To put into perspective how bad that is, here’s a list of sports teams/athletes that earned more than zero wins in November:

  1. Chicago Cubs - Won Games 6 and 7 of the World Series on Nov. 1 and 2 — the only two MLB games played in November.
  2. Kansas Jayhawks - Finished football season 2-10, but beat Texas on Nov. 19 — the team’s first November win since 2014.
  3. Every NBA team - Even the 4-13 Philadelphia 76ers and 3-13 Dallas Mavericks won multiple games. The 76ers finished 2014 and 2015 without a win in November.
  4. Every NHL team - The New York Islanders went 2-9 in November, but that’s two more wins than the Browns, Bears, 49ers, Jaguars, Bengals, and Jets.
  5. Manny Pacquiao - The 37-year-old Filipino boxer beat Jessie Vargas for the WBO welterweight title by unanimous decision. Only his fifth win in the last five years.
  6. Sunderland - The club may be last in the Premier League standings with two wins, two draws, and nine losses, but both of those wins came in November against Bournemouth and Hull City.

Yikes. Better luck in December.
