Kristaps Porzingis and Karl-Anthony Towns trade jaw-dropping blocks

The future is bright for these two second-year big men.

Legend has it, Kristaps Porzingis and Karl-Anthony Towns are good friends. Naturally, good friends try one-up each other in competition. On Wednesday, the two second-year standouts had highlight reel-worthy moments on the defensive end.

It began when Porzingis came over from the weak side to reject Shabazz Muhammad’s layup attempt at the rim. Muhammad didn’t even see it coming.

But Towns didn’t take nicely to his counterpart’s block. So he returned the favor on the other end.

Towns rejected a Derrick Rose layup at the height of its trajectory, swatting its hopes and dreams into Carmelo Anthony’s lap.

He later went up against Porzingis at the rim. Here’s how it panned out:

The Wolves big man would finish the first half with a ridiculous 26 points on 10-for-11 shooting, his only miss coming on a Porzingis contest. New York, though, held a 58-49 lead after two quarters.
