California Chrome will go for history at 8:35 p.m. ET Saturday in the Breeder’s Cup Classic at Santa Anita Park, and you can stream it live online using NBC Sports Live Extra. NBC will televise the event, with coverage beginning at 8 p.m. NBCSN has TV coverage from 2:30-8 p.m.

Art Sherman’s colt has already won the Dubai World Cup earlier this year and is riding a six-race unbeaten streak. He’s trying to be the first to win both the World Cup and the Classic in one year. Chrome is the rare 5-year-old to continue racing, long after most with his resume would have retired to the stud barn. Chrome won the first two races of the 2014 Triple Crown, the Kentucky Derby, and Preakness Stakes, before finishing fourth in the Belmont after having his heel stepped on coming out of the gate.

Chrome’s top challengers will be Bob Baffert’s 3-year-old, Arrogate, and Kiaran McLaughlin’s 4-year-old, Frosted. That’s because all three horses who won Triple Crown races in 2016 have already retired: Kentucky Derby winner Nyquist, Preakness winner Exaggerator, and Belmont winner Creator.

The Classic is the final race of nine to be held on Saturday following four on Friday. One fun one to keep an eye on is the $2 million Sentient Jet Juvenile, a 1-1/16-mile race for 2-year-olds. It’s a nice preview for some of the top names that might arise during the upcoming Triple Crown season. The juvenile is scheduled for a 5:43 p.m. post time and can be viewed on NBCSN. Not This Time (7-2), Classic Empire (4-1), and Gormley (5-1) are the three betting favorites.

The $4 million Longines Turf race is set for a 6:22 p.m. post, and will also be televised by NBCSN. Great Britain horse Flintshire is a 5-2 favorite in the 1-1/2-mile race. Found and Highland Reel, both of Ireland, both ave 3-1 odds.
