C.J. McCollum’s warmup routine now includes some weird dancing

What is this?

Warmups are a funny thing. LeBron James does the powder toss. Dwyane Wade uses the rim as a pull-up bar. Some guys like to stretch and get some light cardio to loosen those ligaments and get ready for game time. Other guys, like Russell Westbrook and Cameron Payne, like to have a dance-off before taking the court.

It’s all perfectly fine.

Then there’s Portland Trail Blazers guard C.J. McCollum who, apparently, does some combination of the two. Ahead of his team’s Tuesday night matchup against the Los Angeles Clippers, McCollum simply couldn’t be stopped, pulling off a series of frivolous dance moves with a basketball his arms. It was like Portland’s guard was trying his best Marquette King impression, and was having the time of his life while he was at it.

Hey, when you’re averaging a career-best 22.6 points per game on an out-of-this-world 47.3 percent shooting from downtown, you can warmup however you want. So go ahead, C.J., get your groove on.
