Steph Curry honors Oakland fire victims with ‘Oakland Strong’ shoes

They’ll be auctioned after the game.

Steph Curry’s game shoes against the Knicks were customized versions of his typical sneakers, to honor victims of the Oakland warehouse fire.

The shoes say “Oakland Strong,” as you can see, but also bear the words “Ghost Ship,” the name of the warehouse that burned, which served as a group house for many artists in the area. A fire started and spread quickly, as the inside, mostly filled with makeshift wood furnishings, caught fast.

Thirty-six people died. Their initials are also on the shoes, which will be auctioned off to support the families of the victims.
