2017 NBA All-Star Game: ‘The Roots’ set to perform before tip-off
Grammy award-winning hip-hop group, “The Roots,” will tip-off the 2017 NBA All-Star Game.

The league announced on Friday that Grammy award-winning hip-hop group The Roots will kick off the 2017 NBA All-Star Game at New Orleans’ Smoothie King Center in February.
The Roots joins a bevy of musicians — including Sting, Ariana Grande, Nicki Minaj, Kendrick Lamar, Pharrell Williams, and Earth, Wind & Fire — to perform during NBA All-Star Games in recent memory. It is the 66th NBA All-Star Game.
At least one player will be happy with the NBA’s choice, and that’s Washington Wizards’ guard Bradley Beal, who revealed to Bleacher Report that he listens to “Here I Come” by The Roots before he takes the court.
The music group’s last released album, “... And Then You Shoot Your Cousin,” debuted at No. 11 on the Billboard Top 200 in 2014. In October, The Roots announced their 17th album, tentatively titled “End Game,” is in the works.
