The Houston Rockets set two NBA records on Friday, making 24 three-pointers and attempting 61 in a 122-100 win against the Pelicans. Eric Gordon hit seven, James Harden nailed six and Trevor Ariza had five made triples, with six players hitting threes for Houston.

The Rockets had set the three-point attempts record in November with 50, which passed the Dallas Mavericks’ 49 attempts back in 1996. But the 61 attempts shattered the record, while also setting a new mark for three-pointers attempted in one half (31).
Houston’s 24 made three-pointers was a regular season record, but not an overall one — Cleveland hit 25 triples in last year’s playoffs in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference semifinals against the Atlanta Hawks.
Eric Gordon, talking to reporters after the game, said he thinks the Rockets can re-break the record again this season.
Houston leads the league in both made threes and attempts by a large margin.
