Morning Skate: The Blue Jackets win again as the NHL’s roster freeze sets in
But does it matter?

Lace ‘em up. Time for the Morning Skate.
MAYBE THEY’RE JUST GOOD
On Friday we tried to figure out whether the Columbus Blue Jackets were good, lucky, or a mirage. It’s only been three days since, but we’re starting to lean towards good.
But cracks are showing. Columbus won its ninth straight game on Sunday, but had to withstand giving up three third-period goals in the process. They hadn’t given up a single third period goal all month until the Canucks (the Canucks!) blitzed them late.
But they won, so who knows.
By the way, the NHL’s holiday roster freeze is effective today. No movement until Dec. 27.
