The NBA and National Basketball Players Association agreed on a new Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) last week, and among the changes outlined in the deal is an updated list of banned player activities.
Hoverboards, jet skis, and fireworks are banned in the new NBA CBA, per report
J.R. Smith can no longer pull up to games in hoverboards.

Basketball Insiders’ Eric Pincus obtained a copy of the CBA term sheet which, among other things, detailed new off-the-court health hazards.
Writes Pincus:
Other areas in the deal include health insurance and an increased pension for retired players, prohibited activities (now including fireworks, firearms, jet skiing, hoverboards, trampoline jumping, etc.) and a comprehensive policy for domestic violence incidents.
The update comes on the heels of career-altering accidents across multiple sports within recent memory.
In 2003, a freak motorcycle accident cost Chicago Bulls rookie Jay Williams the remainder of a promising NBA career. In 2015, New York Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul mangled his left hand handling fireworks on the Fourth of July. And in June, ex-Indianapolis Colts running back Zurlon Tipton accidentally and fatally shot himself while dropping his car off at a dealership.
The NBA wants to protect its players from potentially harming themselves off the court, and expanding its banned activities list is in the best interest of all parties involved. It just means J.R. Smith can’t do things like this anymore.
