The old adage “like father, like son” can be used in both a positive and negative context. But in the case of ex-NBA All-Star Kenyon Martin and his son, Kenyon Martin Jr., uber-athleticism is something pops passed down to his son. And it’s already showing itself midway through high school.
Kenyon Martin’s 15-year-old son might dunk harder than his dad
K.J. Martin threw down a vicious one-handed alley-oop finish over a defender and his pops couldn’t believe it.
He goes by K.J., and he’s a 15-year-old, 6’6 sophomore at West Hills Chaminade in Los Angeles. The Twitterverse felt his presence Wednesday night after Martin posted a video of his son catching a lob pass and throwing it down, one-handed, over his defender’s back.
You can hear him in utter disbelief narrating the scene.
Martin made a name for himself in the NBA as a vicious dunker and ferocious shot blocker. He told The Undefeated in a recent interview that K.J’s hands are already bigger than his and that his son is projected to grow taller than 6’9.
It looks like young K.J. could be following his pops’ footsteps after all.
