Jake Butt injury: Star Michigan tight end suffers torn ACL in Orange Bowl, per report
Ugh.

Butt, prior to his injury, was expected to be a high pick in this year’s NFL Draft. With future NFL stars such as LSU’s Leonard Fournette and Stanford’s Christian McCaffrey skipping their bowl games, Butt said that he never once thought about skipping the Orange Bowl due to the risk of an injury.
Butt went out of the game after making a catch and getting tackled. He looked to be in some pain on the sideline.
At the start of the second half, it was reported that Butt would not return to the game.
He walked off the field under his own power, but was escorted to the locker room after the injury and didn’t return for the rest of the first half.
On the season, Butt had 518 receiving yards along with four touchdowns. Michigan lost to FSU 33-32, and the Wolverines could have used a talented weapon on offense like Butt for the remainder of the game.
