Westminster Dog Show 2016 results: Sporting, Working and Terrier groups impress

The final three groups at the 2016 Westminster Dog Show got their chance to shine in the ring on Tuesday. The Hound, Toy, Herding and Non-Sporting dogs opened the show on Monday before the Sporting, Working and Terrier groups took center stage. The winners now have their eyes on the ultimate prize of Best in Show.
CJ, the German Shorthaired Pointer, took home the first honor of the night, claiming the win in the Sporting group. That’s a tough group to win, with several crowd favorites among the competitors.

When the Working group took to the ring, the action picked up. There was Ronan, the Bullmastiff who once ate an entire Thanksgiving turkey. The Leonberger may have been the favorite of the entire show. Not for winning, but because he couldn’t wait for more treats and tried to eat them out of his owner’s pocket.
While those were both good dogs, neither came away the winner. Instead, it was Bogey, the Samoyed, who won the Working group.

The Terriers were the last group to enter the ring. There were several strong contenders, but ultimately Charlie the Skye Terrier won the group. Charlie and all of his hair, that is.

Those three will now compete with the other four group winners for the Best in Show title.
