LIMITED UPSIDE, Episode 21: The Thunder are great, but maybe not great enough
We check in with Oklahoma City in a year of reckoning. Are they just cursed with being a great team in the wrong year?

In this week’s episode, we take a deep dive into the league’s forgotten great team: the Oklahoma City Thunder. They play seven games against the Warriors, Cavaliers, Spurs and Clippers over the next six weeks, so we’re about to find out just how good they are. Some talking points:
- This is now Russell Westbrook’s offense with Kevin Durant as a second option, which makes them even more dangerous.
- The development of Steven Adams.
- They’re still one wing short, which will cost them against the Warriors.
- Billy Donovan got off to a slow start, but he’s now finding himself.
- If they don’t win the title, this really could be it. If Durant flees (maybe to Golden State?), Westbrook can’t be far behind.
We also discuss the surprisingly fun Nuggets, the revival of Grit ‘N Grind in Memphis and why the Dwight Howard to the Celtics rumor doesn’t make sense.
(A note: we spoke as if Saturday’s Warriors-Thunder showdown is in Oklahoma City. It’ll actually be played in Oakland. We regret the error).
