NHL Monday: Ducks streak stops at 11 after shootout loss to Capitals

It’s only been a handful of games, but Nylander, Soshnikov and Hyman already have their first career NHL goals and are making big differences in the lineup.

Nylander’s first back on March 5 was the tying score for Toronto in the first period of their game against Ottawa. Despite the 3-2 loss, the forward’s goal helped spark some life in the Maple Leafs after an early deficit.

Definitely a goal, and one by the slimmest of margins. Basically a hair’s width, but you can absolutely see the white of the ice in between the puck and the red line.

Jagr is now 36 points behind the second all-time scorer, Mark Messier, and his record of 1,887. Wayne Gretzky’s record of 2,857 is likely just out of reach of Jagr at this stage in his career, but being the third-best points scorer in the NHL is still quite the feat.
