Grizzlies vs. Spurs, 2016 NBA playoffs: Game time, TV schedule and how to watch online

How to watch the start of the series between the Grizzlies and Spurs.

The San Antonio Spurs start their 2016 playoff run against the Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday, in a two-versus-seven Western Conference matchup between two teams with history.

This will be the Spurs and Grizzlies’ third playoff meeting since 2011. They’ve split the last two, although San Antonio is a heavy favorite this time around. The Spurs had a monumentally and historically great season, and while the Golden State Warriors have typically overshadowed them, the conventional wisdom is that the Spurs will at least win the two series required to catch up with the Warriors in the Western Conference Finals.

Statistically, there’s no reason to expect the Spurs to have any trouble. They won 25 more games than the Grizzlies in the regular season, and they’re better in just about every facet of the game. They’re more efficient on offense, do much better work on the glass and are generally much deeper. It’s a tough draw for the Grizzlies, who won’t have point guard Mike Conley or center Marc Gasol. It’ll take quite an effort for Memphis to pull off even one or two upset wins, let alone four.
