BOSTON HAS A CHANCE
The Stars and Islanders are examples of how you can enjoy tremendous regular seasons and still catch the injury bug at the worst possible time.
WHAT HAPPENED LAST NIGHT
- Detroit had Jimmy Howard to thank for a huge win against Philly last night.
- The Flyers didn't exactly start their four-games-in-five days stretch on the right foot.
- The Leafs and Jackets both tried to tank so hard on Wednesday. But the Leafs were better at it.
- Edmonton routed the Canucks in their final game at Rexall Place.
- By the way, has any team this year been as nondescript as the Canucks? They've been awful with little fanfare. They're the guy that showed up to the party and just stood in the back of the room the whole night looking at his phone.
- They're me.
- And they're going to draft no higher than sixth overall.
- Nobody new clinched last night, mainly because four of the six teams that played are lottery teams.
- And I pretty much just laid out how the playoff picture changed in the intro paragraph. I don't know why this section is still here. But thank you for reading this fa--wait, wait, come back!
- Are the Flyers running out of gas?
- The Leafs are the happiest lottery team in recent memory.
- An Oilers fan says goodbye to Rexall Place.
- Artemi Panarin is going to win the Calder even though stats suggest Connor McDavid should.
- The Devils clearly improved this season, but how much?
- The easiest path to the Eastern Conference final is right in front of the Rangers.
- Would the Islanders or Rangers be better playoff foes for the Penguins?
- Congratulations to the Panthers and their fans are in order.
- The Coyotes' lack of defensive depth has been exposed.
- Should Stars fans manage their playoff expectations?
- Tanking is not an option for the Flames.
- How much credit does Peter DeBoer deserve for the Sharks' turnaround?
