The Thunder surged back behind a magnificent overall performance by Russell Westbrook to win Game 5 in San Antonio and take a 3-2 series lead.
Donovan is pushing all the right buttons for OKC

In the middle of everything was Donovan, as poised as a man with his years of experience can be, a rookie head coach in name only. San Antonio’s lead grew as large as 13 points, but Oklahoma City made its run. The Spurs led by six points with four minutes to go, but once again, the Thunder made another run. When the buzzer sounded on Tuesday, Donovan’s team was the one up 3-2, a home win away from the Western Conference Finals.

A switch flipped in the second half, however, and Westbrook willed the Thunder back from 13 down with a phenomenal fourth quarter. Oklahoma City shocked San Antonio, 95-91, in Game 5 to take a 3-2 series lead.
On Tuesday, Westbrook led the charge every time it seemed like the Spurs were going to pull away. When they built up a 13-point lead in the third, he scored seven points and dished out three assists as the Thunder pulled back to within six. And he was relentless as usual:

Mills was out in front and didn’t have to worry about dribbling. He put his head down and sprinted to try to get in position. But, Westbrook is just too fast and trying to pivot into a backpedal with Westbrook coming at you is never, ever going to work out well.
Westbrook was impressed with himself. Or disgusted. Hard to tell.
