Bryce Harper suspended 1 game, fined for arguing with umpire

Washington Nationals superstar Bryce Harper has been suspended for one game and fined an undisclosed amount for his actions in Monday's win over the Detroit Tigers.

Harper was ejected from the dugout by home plate umpire Brian Knight for arguing balls and strikes, then two pitches later Clint Robinson hit a walk-off home run to give the Nationals a 5-4 win. Harper came back on to the field during the celebration, and in doing so continued to argue with Knight.

After the game on Monday, Harper was incredulous when asked if he might face discipline for his outburst. "If I do, I do. I'll pay it. Maybe he'll get fined too, we'll see," he said, referring to Knight, per Patrick Reddington of Federal Baseball.
