Go Maggie Go was the winner of the 92nd Black-Eyed Susan Stakes on Friday at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore. The race pits some of the top 3-year-old fillies against each other a day ahead of the Preakness Stakes. Ma Can Do It finished second and Kinsley Kisses third.

Go Maggie Go paid $5.60 to win, $3.60 to place and $3.00 to show on a $2 bet. Ma Can Do It paid $31.40 to place and $15 to show. Kinsley Kisses paid $4.60 to show. The time of the Grade II 1-1/8 mile race was 1:51.81.

Kinsley Kisses and Go Maggie Go stayed 1-2 for most of the race, while Midnight On Oconee, Ma Can Do It and Mom’s On Strike stayed in a pack with the leaders for much of the race. Go Maggie Go started to pull away around the turn for the stretch and won by about two lengths.

Go Maggie Go, trained by Dale Romans and with Luis Saez as jockey, was a frequent pick among experts and entered the race with 9-5 odds, while Land Over Sea took 3-2 odds in.

The winner of the Kentucky Oaks two weeks ago, Cathryn Sophia, did not enter, and last year’s top juvenile filly, Songbird, sat out as well. Go Maggie Go finished fourth in the Kentucky Oaks, a neck behind Land Over Sea who is trained by Doug O’Neill. That was Go Maggie Go’s only loss of her career. She earned a victory in April in the Grade II Gulfstream Park Oaks.

The 141st Preakness Stakes will be held Saturday at Pimlico. The post time is approximately 6:45 p.m. ET, with NBC providing coverage of the race and NBC Live Sports Extra streaming.
