• Nobody remembers anything about the Home Run Derby other than when a juiced Mark McGwire hit a bunch of balls like 850 feet into the Boston night
• It would make for very good television
• Chris Berman might get overheated at the prospect of a San Francisco Giant being THE story of the home run derby. A very erotic venn diagram indeed.
• It reinforces how impressive it is when baseball players are good both in the field and at the plate
• Bumgarner has already physically given so much to the Giants and baseball, why not let baseball give him something in the way of a dream under the lights?
