Nats’ bench coach steals Phanatic’s motorbike keys, hilarity ensues
This game did not start on time ...

The Phanatic is a national baseball treasure. The Phillies' mascot is constantly pulling pranks and messing around with players. This time, though, the Phanatic got a taste of his own medicine. The Nationals' bat boy stole the keys to his motorbike and handed them off to Nats bench coach Chris Speier for safekeeping.
Just when you didn’t think the pregame antics couldn’t get any better, they did. First, we should note that the game was supposed to start at 7:05 p.m. ET. Clearly, though, the Phanatic and the Nats were in no rush since the game was delayed by three minutes because the Phanatic couldn’t get his motorbike off the field. Let’s run through this, shall we?
Upon realizing his keys have been stolen, the Phanatic loses it. And really, wouldn’t you, too? I mean, clearly he’s distraught.
Which leads to the Phanatic wandering over to the Nats’ dugout, begging and pleading for his keys ...
Well, that’s embarrassing. But whatever works, I guess. Rolling around might’ve been a bit too much, but hey, you do you, buddy. Sometimes a little extra effo---OH ...
Good grief, Phanatic. There are children. Think of the children! On the other hand, Speier did steal the keys, so ... Well, at least it didn’t get any worse th---oh dear.
Yep, that’ll teach ‘em.
