Bucks, Mirza Teletovic agree on 3-year, $30 million deal

The Bucks are adding some much-needed shooting.

The Milwaukee Bucks and free agent forward Mirza Teletovic have agreed on a three-year, $30 million deal, according to ESPN's Marc Stein.

After spending his first three seasons in the league with the Brooklyn Nets, Teletovic is coming off a career year with the Phoenix Suns, in which he averaged 12 points and four rebounds on 21 minutes a game. He shot 39 percent from beyond the arc, proving once again that he's a good option as a stretch power forward.

Surely that ability to space the floor and hit open looks from outside is what intrigued the Bucks about the 30-year-old combo forward. Milwaukee finished dead last in the 2015-16 season in three-pointers attempted and shot a poor 34 percent on those looks as a team. Adding a prolific marksman like Teletovic will surely help Milwaukee improve on that area.

The concerns with Teletovic come on the defensive end, as he lacks the strength to defend traditional power forwards and the speed to guard small forwards. That shouldn't be a big problem on a Bucks squad that features several players who can defend multiple positions like Giannis Antetokounmpo, Khris Middleton, Jabari Parker and even rookie Thon Maker. If there's a team that can hide Teletovic on defense, it's Milwaukee.

The Bucks will need internal improvement and still need to add more shooting to be a threat to return to the playoffs, but the signing of Teletovic seems to be a step in the right direction.
