Kobe Bryant jokes that a 17-65 season was the ideal way to end his career
Who is this Kobe Bryant and why is he making fun of himself?

Kobe is arguably the most competitive player in our generation, which made his farewell tour initially perplexing. How are we supposed to admire a legendary player like Bryant for the last time — and in some cases for the first time — based on how disconnected from his emotions he was for the sake of winning all throughout his career?
But that’s how it happened. I’m personally still in awe at how Kobe Lovefest 2015-16 went down. On his way out, Kobe was great in more ways than simply on the court because of it, though he still managed to put up 60 points in his last game as an NBA player.
And now Kobe has the confidence to make fun of his last season as a Laker? The old Kobe would have never had the self-deprecating nature to critique himself like that, let alone do so in public; he would only stay quiet until he improved on what was once his flaw. It was downright robotic.
On second thought, maybe he’s not poking fun at himself. To be fair, Kobe didn’t play all those games. It was his teammates who mostly accumulated that record that all but guaranteed a lottery pick (hello Brandon Ingram). So if anything, Kobe is making fun of Swaggy P. Yeah, that makes more sense.
