Mick Fanning returns to where he fought off a shark attack, surfs away with a win

You may not recognize Mick Fanning’s name, but you almost definitely remember what happened to him in 2015.

Yes, just a little under a year ago Fanning was getting attacked by a shark at the Jeffreys Bay Open. Saturday he was back in those waters winning the competition.

From Surfer Magazine:

“The emotional buildup, even just coming back, it’s really different.” Mick said. “I’m just so stoked to be able to come back, to right the wrongs that happened last year. Now we’ve done that, and we can move on.”

Looks like he had a little bit more fun this year.
