Bernie Sanders’ campaign finally found a use for their GIF of him as Stephen Curry

On Thursday, the NBA announced that it will move the 2017 All-Star Game away from Charlotte due to the state’s anti-LGBTQ legislation. It’s a move that’s ultimately the right call, and even Bernie Sanders’ Twitter account had something to say about it. Which is to say, whoever is running Sanders’ account tweeted a photoshopped GIF of him as if he was playing a) with the Golden State Warriors, b) as Stephen Curry and c) against New Orleans, which is where the NBA is looking to bring the 2017 All-Star Game.

(If you recall, Sanders really is a baller on the court.)

I mean, it’s cool that Sanders and his team are applauding the NBA for this. I’m not sure having Sanders shoot a three against New Orleans is necessarily a message you want to send to a potential All-Star Game’s host. But I’m going to assume they had the GIF on their hard drive, and were waiting for a good moment to tweet it, regardless if it was going to be about the NBA’s response to an anti-LGBTQ bill. That’s usually how social media management works anyway.
