Joel Embiid fondly remembers, idolizes the GOAT Sam Hinkie on Instagram

Joel Embiid is slowly becoming a legend off the court. His Twitter and Instagram game is great. He was ready to recruit Kevin Durant on Twitter the instant the Oklahoma City Thunder were out of the NBA Playoffs. Sure, that didn’t work, but you can’t knock him for trying.

He’s really just looking out for his team. And part of that is appreciating everything about the squad, including its current makeup and those who helped form it. So while Sam Hinkie is no longer with the organization, Embiid took the time to thank him, in what seems like biblical fashion.

Never change, Joel — unless that means you’re finally stepping on an NBA court.
