The Indians mocked the Twins with a scoreboard joke after Minnesota’s trade rumor mishap

We take scoreboards for granted. They’re the Xzibit of the sports world. Ey dawg, I heard you like sports, so we put the news and scores of other games and put them in your game. The technology is fantastic — when it works.

There’s the odd chance that a scoreboard could malfunction or even display wrong information. That happened to the Minnesota Twins, whose scoreboard displayed a surprising trade. Carlos Beltran had been traded from the Yankees to the Indians!

Only that wasn’t really the case. Beltran is still hanging out in New York. The Twins’ scoreboard was actually showing trade rumors, which is deceiving to every fan in attendance. Sure, they could confirm by looking at their phones, but who better to give out MLB news than an MLB team’s stadium? And now one of Cleveland’s scoreboards is firing back, with info that may or may not be true.

Well played, left field scoreboard.
