Unrestricted free agent big man Marreese Speights will join the Los Angeles Clippers. In typical Mo Buckets fashion, he did things the unorthodox way, letting David Aldridge know of his decision via DM instead of having his agent announce the deal.

Speights will leave the Warriors after three seasons.

Speight spent the past three seasons with the Warriors, winning a championship in 2015. He never averaged more than 16 minutes per game during the regular season in his time in Golden State but provided valuable big man depth, as well as lineup flexibility thanks to his shooting ability.
In his last season as a Warrior, he was stretched all the way to the three-point line. He had some big games in the playoffs but ultimately slipped out of the rotation as the postseason went on.
This is a great get for the Clippers, which lost Cole Aldrich in free agency and needed big man depth. Speights' skill set should allow him to play both with Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan, which will give Doc Rivers some options.
He could be the first big man off the bench, as Los Angeles has not signed anyone else who can play center as of now. That could be too big a role for a limited player like Speights, but if his 39 percent shooting from beyond the arc holds, he could be ready to take a step forward as a player.
Speights averaged seven points and three rebounds on 11 minutes a game last season.
