Simone Biles looks to bring home the gold in the women’s individual all-around.
NBC Sports will be around for the final with streaming live coverage. Between the chance to watch Biles and the possibility of a four-peat, you’ll want to tune in.
Since the 2004 Olympics in Athens, this event has been all about the Americans. That year, Carly Patterson won gold to start an impressive run that’s continued with Nastia Liukin’s 2008 victory and Gabrielle Douglas’ 2012 victory. Now Biles is in prime position to continue that run of dominance and become an international star in the process.
Biles, 19, earned the top spot during the U.S. Olympic trials in July over teammates Laurie Hernandez and Aly Raisman. She’s considered one of the best young gymnasts ever and has done nothing to dispel that notion over the past few years. Now set to compete in the biggest event in her first Olympics, this is Biles’ chance to officially reaffirm her title as the best female gymnast alive.
