With the conclusion of the group stage in beach volleyball at the 2016 Olympics, we move on to the elimination tournament Friday. Starting with the Round of 16, the fields for the men’s and women’s competitions will be trimmed until the gold medal matches.

Both the men’s and women’s Round of 16 start on Friday, with the NBC family of networks providing coverage throughout the day, starting with NBCSN at 9 a.m. ET, then shifting to MSNBC and Telemundo before finishing off the day on NBC. Online coverage throughout the day will be provided by NBC Sports.
The headline match on Friday is Kerri Walsh Jenning and April Ross, after an undefeated three matches in group play. The American duo will battle Matta Mennegatti and Laura Giombini of Italy in their opening match in the knockout round.
Following the full slate of Round of 16 games, the women’s quarterfinals will be on Sunday, followed by the semifinals on Tuesday. The bronze medal match will be Wednesday and the gold medal match will be Thursday. For the men, the quarterfinals will be Monday, the semifinals will be Tuesday, the bronze medal match will be Thursday and the gold medal match will be next Friday.
