Someone gave Team USA Basketball a game. Should U.S. fans be worried?

Plus: the brilliance of Olympic Melo, Dario Saric fever and a brief off-topic turn to our second love.

We’ll return to our regularly-scheduled team-by-team offseason recap podcasts shortly, but with the Olympics in full swing, we decided to hit on a couple hot topics all by ourselves. In this week’s episode, we discuss:

  • Team USA’s closer-than-expected victory over Australia on Wednesday. Is this cause for concern or just a blip?
  • In appreciation of Olympic Carmelo Anthony, the superstar we wish we saw more in the NBA.
  • Why we’re starting to catch Dario Fever.
  • The unveiling of next year’s schedule, including the Timberwolves earning a Christmas Day slot a lot earlier than we expected.
  • What does it mean that LeBron James signed a three-year contract (with a third-year option) instead of another one-year deal?

Plus, we preview our second love: the 2016-17 Premier League season. If you’re not a soccer fan, you can skip this part. If you are, please tell us why we’re wildly off on our predictions. We’ll resume with our next offseason podcast preview on the Pelicans soon.
