The men’s trampoline qualifying and final for the 2016 Olympics are set for Saturday in Rio. One of the newest and most entertaining events in Olympic gymnastics, the trampoline sees some of the world’s best athletes perform acrobatics while bouncing high into the air.

Logan Dooley tries to become the first American to ever win Olympic gold in the men’s trampoline.

The competition begins with a qualification round before things head straight to the final. NBC Sports will have the coverage starting at 1 p.m. ET so you can catch all the flips and tucks live.
No American has ever won a medal on the trampoline, which was only added to the Olympics in 2000. The past two gold medals have been won by Chinese gymnasts. In 2008, Lu Chunlong took gold while teammate Dong Dong took bronze. In 2012, the two swapped places with Dong earning gold and Chunlong getting bronze.
Logan Dooley will be representing the U.S. in the trampoline this year. He earned the spot by beating out 2012 Olympian Steven Gluckstein in the qualifying process. An alternate for the past two Olympics, Dooley is now trying to become the first American trampoline gymnast to ever win an Olympic medal.
Unlike many other Olympic gymnastic events that have lengthy breaks between qualification and finals, the trampoline does it all in a single session. So it’ll be an exciting afternoon in Rio, and you’ll be able to watch it all live via NBC Sports.
All times Eastern.
