We all need a hand sometimes. Whether that’s being picked up off the field, having a shoulder to cry on — or, perhaps, when you pick your water bottle up the wrong way and are about to spray it all over the field instead of your mouth.
That’s precisely what happened on Friday night when Australia was facing Brazil in the women’s soccer quarterfinal. Refreshment was saved at the last second thanks to a heads-up play, and in that moment it was as important as any play on the field.
