Unless you’re that Russian diver who got a zero and a moderate amount of back pain after that really unfortunate attempt, you’ve probably had a perfectly fine 2016 Olympiad, even if you personally haven’t won a medal. You’ve already seen some great performances from swimmers and gymnasts and shotputters and rowers and marathoners and so on.
The Rio Olympics have been great, but they still have room for improvement!
Please note: these suggestions are largely why we’re not in charge of the Olympic Games.
Still, some of the events could use...a little something. Nothing major, mind you. Just a rule tweak here, a more TV-friendly angle there. The occasional wild animal intentionally inserted into the competition. Oh, don’t be a baby, it’s totally fine!
These are just a few of our bad ideas, though. We have others:
- Javelin, but while riding a horse
- Trampoline participants have to catch footballs spit out of a JUGS machine
- Rapid-fire archery, no more of this “take your time and line up your shot” business
We’re ready to put all of these into effect whenever you are, IOC. You don’t even have to give us credit!
