His start was poor, but a slow beginning didn’t mean much to the fastest man in the world. Usain Bolt roared past the United States’ Justin Gatlin in the final 30 meters to win his third straight Olympic gold medal, becoming the first man in history to do so.
Usain Bolt wins an unprecedented 3rd straight Olympic gold in 100 meters
Bolt is unstoppable once again.

Nothing can slow Bolt down, not even an injury. He missed the Jamaican Olympic Trials in July with a hamstring injury, but was still a cut above the rest of the world in Rio.
Since 2008 in Beijing, Bolt is a nearly unbelievable 18-0 in global championship races -- unless you count his false-start disqualification in the 2011 world championships 100. And the thing is, he’s probably better in the 200. Bolt will be racing for two more gold medals in Rio in the 200 and the 4x100 relay. He’s won the 100, 200 and 4x100 at the last two Olympics. He’s already the only athlete to ever achieve that feat. If he can add a third sweep in three Summer Games, he might put himself out of reach in the history books.
