Los Angeles Rams head coach Jeff Fisher saw promise in first-round draft pick Jared Goff during the Rams 28-24 preseason opening win over the Dallas Cowboys. Goff played just two series with the second-team offense, completing 4 of 9 passes for 38 yards and one interception before leaving the game with a shoulder injury.
Jared Goff to take snaps with first team in preseason action, still early for fantasy implications
Rams’ rookie QB Jared Goff short preseason debut enough to earn reps with the starting offense in next week’s matchup against the Chiefs. We look at fantasy implications.

Despite an ominous start, Fisher clearly wants to groom his young quarterback. He brushed off Goff’s sore shoulder saying, “He’ll be fine,” and “There are no concerns whatsoever.” Fisher plans to have Goff take snaps with the first-team offense in Saturday’s meeting with the Kansas City Chiefs.
Fantasy Spin:
Goff could challenge Case Keenum for the starting QB position but, it’s still too early to tell whether the rookie has a chance of grabbing the starting role. A couple of positives for Goff are that he looked comfortable taking snaps under center, a shift from his usual shotgun, and the coaching staff is committed to giving there young talent a chance. Still, an average first outing does not grow his stock in fantasy. He may be worth watching throughout the preseason to see if he could rise to late round QB2 option.
