Don’t splash Adrian Beltre after a game, he’ll chase you with a broom

Adrian Beltre was the hero of Monday’s game between the Rangers and A’s, hitting a grand slam in the fifth that gave his team the lead and ultimately the win. After the game, Elvis Andrus, longtime partner in many, many, many Rangers shenanigans, and Rougned Odor decided to celebrate by giving Beltre a Powerade bath, which is not unlike them — here are the same guys splashing Beltre after a win on Aug. 10.
Monday’s attempt was a failure though, because Beltre was not having it this time. To fend himself, he picked up a broom and tried to chase them away. Afterward, Beltre went over to the mound and did some sweeping, like he wanted to scare off his teammates through the magic of custodial work. Touching Beltre’s head will never get old, but it’s nice the Rangers are finding other ways to annoy him.
