Katie Ledecky -- five-time Olympic medalist in Rio who left other swimmers in the dust, and recently learned how to wear multiple medals from Michael Phelps -- is finally home. She didn’t come home to a quiet place, though -- there was a huge crowd of fans, friends, teammates and media waiting for her at Dulles Airport. Because when you compete at the Olympics and put up an unbelievable performance, all of that is justified.

Ledecky had a press conference shortly after arriving, where she revealed her plans for the future, which is basically settling into Stanford:
“Really, the only thing is planning for the next couple of weeks, moving into college, and I’m excited to go to college ... and swim for a really great college team, and go to school with some of my best friends, and then, you know, I’ll start setting some goals for my swimming in the next four years, and hopefully, I’ll be in Tokyo as well.”
Ledecky went on to mention how her success in Rio could not be possible without “a great support system,” how great it is that she got to make an impact on kids with her fellow Team USA swimmers, and the medal-wearing lesson she got from Phelps apparently stuck, because the way she wore them at the presser was exactly how she wore them on the Sports Illustrated cover.
Best of luck in college, Katie. See you at Tokyo 2020.
