Usain Bolt will go for another gold medal at the 2016 Olympics in the men’s 200-meter sprint Thursday night in Rio. He’s the two-time defending Olympic gold medalist and world record holder in this race, which is one of the big highlights of Day 13.

It’s going to be a busy day in Rio with lots of track and field, basketball and more.
Bolt, who already won gold in the men’s 100m, coasted through the semifinals in the 200m with a middle-of-the-road time of 20.28 seconds. He’s done much, much better than that when it really counts. In 2008, he beat Michael Johnson’s seemingly unbreakable Olympic record with a time of 19.30 seconds. A year later he clocked the current world record of 19.19 seconds.
There’s nobody faster in the world than Bolt, but some amazing athletes will try. Two of the big competitors are Canada’s Andre De Grasse, who won bronze in the 100m, and Jamaica’s Yohan Blake, who won silver in the 200m at the 2012 Olympics as part of a Jamaican sweep of the podium.
Other major track and field events include the men’s 400m hurdles final, the final day of the men’s decathlon and the women’s 400m hurdles final and 800m semifinals. American athlete Ashton Eaton is currently leading the standings entering Day 2 of the two-day decathlon competition as he looks to defend his gold medal. In the 400m hurdles, Kerron Clement, 2008 Olympic silver medalist in this event, will go for gold after posting the top time (48.26 seconds) in the semifinals.
In women’s basketball, Team USA will continue its run toward the gold medal with a semifinal matchup against France. Spain and Serbia will play in the other semifinal to determine which teams to get head to the gold medal game. Either way, the U.S. will be heavily favored from here on out after blowing out its competition in the first six games.
That’s not all on the schedule, and NBC Sports will be streaming it all live online, so here’s a look at key events throughout Thursday in Rio.
