The much-anticipated return of Victor Cruz is imminent. New York Giants head coach Ben McAdoo said Cruz was cleared to resume practicing on Tuesday, according to Art Stapleton of NorthJersey.com.
Victor Cruz practicing and may face Jets, fantasy value still low
We break down the fantasy implications of Victor Cruz returning to practice and possibly playing in the Giants’ third preseason game.

McAdoo also said the goal is for Cruz to play in Saturday’s preseason game against the New York Jets. That would be Cruz’s first NFL game of any kind since Week 6 of the 2014 regular season. That is when Cruz tore his patella tendon and missed the rest of 2014.
A setback in his recovery and subsequent calf surgery cost Cruz all of the 2015 season. A groin injury has sidelined Cruz for most of training camp and the preseason this year, but now he is back practicing and poised to play in an NFL game.
Stapleton also noted that Cruz looked good in Tuesday’s practice session. All of this bodes well for Cruz playing in Week 1 when the Giants face the Dallas Cowboys.
Fantasy Spin: After not seeing Cruz in action for almost two years, it’s hard to see him being a relevant fantasy football player in 2016. That is why his current ADP has him going undrafted in most leagues.
However, now that we can see the light at the end of the tunnel for Cruz’s return, he should begin drawing late-round consideration in your league. If he comes anywhere close to what he was pre-injury, Cruz could be a solid WR3 for your team.
