The San Francisco 49ers will not have Bruce Ellington this coming season. On Tuesday, the team announced that Ellington had been placed on season-ending injured reserve due to a hamstring injury.
Bruce Ellington sent to injured reserve, ending fantasy season
We break down the fantasy football impact of Bruce Ellington being lost for the entire 2016 season.

Ellington suffered the injury in San Francisco’s third preseason game. He was expected to be a key weapon in the offense, not to mention the team’s primary returner on special teams. He was emerging as the favorite target for starting quarterback Blaine Gabbert.
Fantasy Spin: With the 49ers lacking in the receiver department, Ellington had a great opportunity to produce in 2016. Instead, his season is over as San Francisco’s already-thin receiver unit gets even thinner.
This also hurts the value of Gabbert, who already had little-to-no fantasy value entering 2016.
