There’s a good chance you’re taller than Simone Biles. There’s an even better chance you won’t win five gold medals this year, though, and if the tradeoff for being 4’8 is also being one of the most dominant gymnasts in the world, well, that seems fair to us.
Simone Biles may be small, but hugely difficult routines set her apart

But it’s not height that truly defines Biles as an athlete. It’s her willingness to embrace higher degrees of difficulty than most of her competitors, and that’s helped her to become the first woman to win three consecutive all-around world championships. Those difficulty scores give her a bit of a cushion on the execution end, though Biles rarely needs it. An accomplished gymnast across all four individual events, Biles definitely won’t be overlooked (hey, you see what we did there) by any of her competition. Now it’s time for Team USA’s smallest athlete to try and do what she does best: win big.
