The second day of judo at the 2016 Olympics in Rio sees a bump in the weight classes. The men’s 66kg and women’s 52kg weight classes will compete on Sunday in what is, for American fans, a rare opportunity to watch a sport rarely broadcast in the country.

Judo, a Japanese form of martial arts, became an Olympic sport for the first time in 1964. It fell off the list of Olympic sports for 1968, but men have competed in judo at every Summer Olympics since then. Starting in 1992, women have also competed at judo in the Olympics.
The action on Sunday begins at 9 a.m. ET with the preliminaries and quarterfinals for each group. After that, at 2:30 p.m. ET, we’ll have the repechage, semifinals and medal matches.
Only one American, Angelica Delgado at 52kg, will be competing on Sunday. Delgado has had most of her success in events on South American soil and will look to continue that trend by earning a medal in Rio. The U.S. judo team doesn’t have a man in the 66kg weight class.
