Olympics 2016 schedule: Time and TV schedule for Sunday’s events
Here’s how you can catch all of Sunday’s action at the Rio Olympics on Sunday.
Regardless of which events you want to watch, NBC will be your destination with coverage throughout the day. Specific broadcast times may vary depending on where you live, but the general schedule for most days will include daytime coverage from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., prime-time from 8 p.m. to midnight, late night from 12:35 a.m. to 1:35 a.m., and replays from 1:35 a.m. to 4:30 a.m (times listed as ET/PT).
Of those four swimming events, the United States earned gold in women’s 100m butterfly in 2012 thanks to Dana Vollmer. She will be back to defend her title in Rio. The U.S. at least medaled in the other events too, though the only returners in those categories will be two members of the men’s 4x100m freestyle relay team. Katie Ledecky, who came home from London with a gold medal in a relay event, will try her hand at the women’s 400m freestyle. In diving, we’ll see medals awarded in the women’s synchronized 3m springboard, an event the U.S. took silver in four years ago.
Moving to dry land, the U.S. women’s basketball team will play its opener against Senegal. The U.S. women have won the last five gold medals in basketball, and seven of the last eight. There will be eight men’s soccer matches, though the USMNT did not make the cut and will not be part of the fun. The rest of the first round of all the tennis tournaments will also take place -- men’s and women’s, singles and doubles.
The other six sports holding medal events on Sunday are archery (women’s team), cycling (women’s road race), fencing (men’s individual foil), judo (women’s 52kg repechage, men’s 66kg repechage), shooting (women’s 10m air pistol, women’s trap), and weightlifting (women’s 53 kg, men’s 56 kg).
They will also have live streams, as well as a run-down of the full day’s schedule with links to each stream, all of which you can find here.
