Look, we all expected Katie Ledecky to win the 400 meter freestyle in Rio, and we all thought she’d even have a good chance of improving on her world record in the event. But, come on. Beating everybody else by nearly five seconds? That kind of dominant performance barely seems fair, and Ledecky’s still got the 200 meter and 800 meter events left to swim, so, um, good luck, those of you faced with the unfortunate task of trying to catch her!

Personally, we’re rooting for Katie to win the 800 with so much time to spare that she can go get towels for each one of the other racers and greet them as they leave the pool. It’d be a nice moment to share, once you get over the whole “this person just destroyed me at the thing I’ve spent countless hours working at” thing. At least you’ll be warm!
