Xavier has suspended senior guard Myles Davis indefinitely, coach Chris Mack announced on Thursday. Davis is facing two misdemeanor charges stemming from an incident with his ex-girlfriend earlier this summer.

Davis pleaded not guilty to a misdemeanor criminal damaging charge on July 25 after allegedly breaking the cellphone of his ex-girlfriend Kiley Stoll by throwing it on a sidewalk. Davis also allegedly dented the door of Stoll’s car during the argument.

Stoll has received a protective order against Davis which will be in effect for three years. Davis is not allowed come within 500 feet of Stoll unless it’s at the school, where he can’t be closer than 10 feet from her. Davis has been accused of threatening Stoll, punching holes in her wall and trying to punch through her windows.

Mack released the following statement:

Davis averaged 10 points per game and hit at least 38 percent of his three-pointers for Xavier each of the last two seasons. He was expected to be a staple on the team’s perimeter alongside Edmond Sumner and Trevon Bluiett next season.
