Fantasy football advice, Week 3: who to start/sit for New York Jets vs. Kansas City Chiefs

Start ‘em

After being shredded by A.J. Green and beaten deep for a long touchdown by Marquise Goodwin, the Darrelle Revis decline is real, even if a bit overstated. Jeremy Maclin is the next receiver to draw his attention, and could be in line for a productive day if the Jets’ defense is its usual stout self against the run. The same could be said for Travis Kelce, whose role in the offense makes him a weekly TE1.

Start ‘em?

Spencer Ware blasted out of the gate in Week 1 but was kept in check by a sturdy Houston Texans front seven the ensuing week. Despite his time-share with Charcandrick West and the tough matchup ahead, Ware’s usage and talent warrant RB2 consideration.

Alex Smith should also garner streaming consideration after Tyrod Taylor and Andy Dalton each put up QB1 numbers against the Jets to begin the season.

Sit ‘em

West and Chris Conley are complementary role players that can be safely kept out of lineups.

Start ‘em

Matt Forte, simply put, has been a beast. With 264 total yards on the season and after finding the end zone three times against the Bills, there’s no reason to consider him anything besides a top-flight RB1.

With Brandon Marshall ailing with a knee injury, Eric Decker could see an uptick in targets. He is as steady of a WR2 as they come.

Start ‘em?

Marshall injured his knee in Week 2, but returned to complete a 6-101-0 line. However, despite having 10 days to rest, there is doubt about Marshall’s availability. Should he sit, fantasy owners need to consider Quincy Enunwa as a flex option. If Marshall plays, he is a boom-or-bust flex that would put Ryan Fitzgerald in fringe QB1 territory.

Sit ‘em

Bilal Powell and Kellen Davis are on the outside looking in amid a capable Jets offense.
